Equal Educational Opportunity
It is the policy of the Forest Grove Board of Education and School District that there will be no discrimination or harassment on the grounds of race, color, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age or disability in any educational programs, activities or employment. Persons having questions about equal opportunity and nondiscrimination should contact the Assistant Superintendent at the District Office, 503-357-6171 or TDD 503-359-2518.
Any person who feels he or she has been the victim of discrimination should contact the Assistant Superintendent at 503-359-2518. The Forest Grove School District has a grievance process in place. This process (including procedures, forms, and timelines) can be found in School Board Policy KL and KL-AR, which are available on the district website or at the district office, 1728 Main St, Forest Grove OR. The goal of the process is to provide prompt and equitable resolution of student, employee, or parent allegations of discrimination. The process begins with a written complaint and includes informal and formal conversations, discussion with district employees involved, and an investigation if necessary. Any decision by district personnel may be appealed. Levels of appeal begin with the building administration and, if necessary, may be taken to the School Superintendent, the local school board, and ultimately the Superintendent of Public Instruction at the Oregon Department of Education.
All Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in this school district are open to all students. The District will take steps to assure that the lack of English language skills will not be a barrier to admission and participation in CTE programs.
